Overdose loss of life charges have spiked dramatically for younger adults, rising 34 p.c between 2018 and 2022, in response to current information from the Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention.
But, there are methods to mitigate the danger of overdose, and even methods to reverse it.
Notably there’s Narcan.
It is a model of the treatment naloxone, and it is usually used within the type of nasal spray. If administered rapidly, it will probably totally reverse an opioid overdose.
