This is controversial. Some companies offer a “Loyalty Discount” for staying with them for 5+ years. It sounds nice, right?
Here is the trap: Often, the “Loyalty Discount” is smaller than the “New Customer Discount” offered by a competitor. You might be saving 5% for loyalty, while a new company would give you 25% just for switching.
Action Step: The “Loyalty Discount” is only real if your base rate is competitive. Use a comparison tool once a year. If a competitor is $300 cheaper, that loyalty discount isn’t worth it.
